Will an Ohio EZ Pass work in my state?

Yes. EZ pass holders can use their transponder in any state that is part of the network (above). Some areas might have additional discounts for using a pass issued by the specific authority. For example, an OH pass will save up to 33% on OH Turnpike tolls.

Some states - like Ohio - honor all EZ pass toll discounts.

Others, like NY will only provide the discount to holders of a pass issued by their authority - but the pass can still be used as an electronic method of paying tolls regardless.

How Does an EZ Pass work?

E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection system that saves both time and money. Travelers who use E-ZPass save an average of 33% on tolls

A toll amount is calculated and deducted from your E-ZPass account prepaid balance.

Additional Info

A minimum balance of $25.00 per transponder is required to establish your account, and a credit card is required to maintain the account. Toll fares will be deducted from your account when the transponder is read at an interchange. When the balance on the E-ZPass account reaches or falls below $10.00 per transponder, the customer’s credit card on file will be charged to replenish the E-ZPass balance for future use.

  • A one-time, $3.00 charge is deducted when the customer\'s transponder is activated. This will come from your $12 auto credit.

  • Transponder pricing varies by toll agency. While some charge an upfront fee. OH tags cost $0.75/month. Well worth the time savings.

  • Please allow 24-48 hours for activation and use of the transponder in other states.

Returns not accepted: Do to the nature of this product, we cannot accept returns once opened. Even more important - if you activated an account using your unique pass code and tag number, you must follow specific instructions for return/cancellation from the OH Turnpike authority. Each tag is unique to you and your vehicles once activated.
