Install these ORANGE telltales on your Hobie Catamaran, Nacra, Prindle, or any other sailboat sail to show the air flow across the sails, allowing you to trim the sails for maximum performance. The included black self-adhesive discs are 1 3/8 inches diameter, made from Insignia cloth, and have a slit in the center to secure the telltale to the sail. Telltales are 1/2 inch wide by 10 inches long and made from 0.75 oz ripstop nylon. This set of 12 telltales is enough to put 3 on each side of the main, and 2 on each side of the jib, with 2 extras for leech tells.
The picture shows 10, but you will receive 12 orange telltales and 12 black adhesive discs.
Using the telltales for sail trimming is simple... sail trim is correctwhenthe telltales on both sides of sail stream aft. The windward telltale will stream upward when the sail needs trimming or if you are pointing too high. The leeward telltale will stream upward when the sail needs easing or if you are sailing too low. If the telltales are fluttering downward (typically in light air), the sail needs easing.
Your order will be sent via USPS first class letter in an envelope large enough, such that these telltales will not be folded or creased. USPS does not offer tracking on first class letters. It should arrive within 5 days, but occasionally takes longer.
