.The way this works is I email you a shipping label and you send me your unit. And for this listings sale price I cover shipping cost both to me and return shipping and appraising repair cost. And I will call you before any repairs are done. And for any reason you do not want it repaired I return your unit at no further cost. The average cost of rebuilding is $160. But it can run more or less depending on condition. But look to my reviews I will treat you right and give your unit a life time warranty. I can also expedite shipping if need be so this can all happen in less than a week if need be. But it will add $70 to the cost.
What most all these older units need is the armature undercut and turned on the lathe and Resoldered and bearing, bushing, brushes, and lacquered fields. Than I ran them on test bench to make sure all is good. I have been doing this is my own shop for over fifty years and now do just vintage ones. I thought I had done this longer than anybody, But there are other selling here on that have been at it just as long. I have always looked at rebuilding as recycling, I try to reuse as many parts of the original as possible (most often the used parts are better than new replacement) but try to make sure its service life is as long as it was when new. Most all of the units I work on are as much as a hundred years old and do not look new, but I make them look pretty good. And if your are working on a show car let me know at time of sale, we can work out a deal to make it look as close to a new old stock as possible. Most generators will need brushes and bushing changed every 30 or 40 thousand miles, if and when yours reaches that point I will take care of it for you for the price of shipping. I will give this a life time warranty (my lifetime) no matter what the cause. And if you need any help with troubleshooting I can do that via phone. I am 66 and probably have another 10 years left in me and I can’t imagine to many wearing it out in that amount of time, if so I will repair it for free less shipping. If this fails because of a problem with the car or pickup I will cover repairing it except shipping. I do live remote and only come into town once or twice a week, so depending when you order is it can be as much as a week to be shipped unless we work out something else between us.
