The Electra Magic Model 80 is now discontinued by Thetford and was designed for RV, marine, bus and other applications where a self-contained recirculating toilet was required.
Original under-lid labeling remains intact, including Thetford Model 80 operating/maintenance instructions and NSF-24 RV plumbing-standard marking,referencingNSF-24-1972, then titledPlumbing System Components for Mobile Homes and Recreational Vehicles. The 1972 federal standard for motorhome plumbing.
This toilet was installed in a horse trailer but was never actually used as a toilet. It served only as a seat while changing clothes, so the system has never been exposed to waste. The unit remains in exceptionally clean condition and has been tested to verify proper operation.
Unlike conventional RV toilets, the Electra Magic features a self-contained recirculating system with its own holding tank, allowing for extremely low water consumption while providing multiple flushes before servicing is required.
