Summary: Delux 1942-48 Ford King Pin Set will fit a 1948 to 1952 F1 Ford. All fitting together well with one modification required. The notch for the lock pins do not match. This is likely something many can do themselves, matching the old king pin notch. In my case I took it to a machine shop.Also, note that the directions say to keep the needle bearing in line with king pins. This is critical and requires some tweeking. they will not align themselves if installed crooked. The installation video is not very helpful as there is a lot of holding parts and talking but no detailed install demonstration.

Summary: This Kingpin set is pricey but it does work well and I expect it to hold up for many years. Bearings are better than bushings so I recommend the upgrade. The lower bearings are easy to press in but the the top ones have to be installed after the kingpins are in place and it's not easy. Save yourself some trouble and pop the top bearings in the freezer so when you are ready to install them, they go in much easier. Remember, the lower bearings are pressed in but the top bearings have to be hammered in so freezing the bearings is the way to go. Now I just need to get my front end aligned properly so I can fly down the freeway safely.

Summary: Once the installation was complete, the spindles turn as smooth as butter. However there are a couple of challenges in the installation. First, take your time installing the needle bearings. One mishit and you are buying a new bearing like I did. Second, you might have to modify the king pin to get the notch to line up with the hole in the axle... like I did. Check photo. Lastly, installing the grease zerks was a pain. The threads are too short on the standard zerk included in the kit. I found some adapters at the local parts store that were longer and allowed a secure attachment of the zerk. (amazing what 1/8" can do)
