Installation:
1. You need a hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the adhesive that holds the old emblem. The heat will soften the glue making it easier to remove it. Keep the hair dryer/heat gun about 3 inches away from the emblem and heat the entire emblem evenly. Periodically check how hot the paint is getting; you do not want to overheat the paint. Once the adhesive has softened you should be able to easily remove the old emblem off the car. We highly recommend emblem removal wire. Note: be very careful as the paint surface will be hot!
2. Once you have removed the old emblem you will need to clean the surface from the glue residue that is left behind. This can be done by applying some adhesive/glue remover to a microfiber towel and cleaning the surface. We also highly recommend the 3M Stripe OFF Wheel that will last you for years. It may take some good old fashion elbow grease to remove the glue residue. Once all the adhesive is removed use some rubbing alcohol to clean the paint surface from any grease or dirt, this will allow the tape on the new badge to stick correctly, this is a MUST DO STEP. Please make sure the surface is DRY.
3. You can install the emblem letter/number by letter/number or whole emblem at once.
One by one:
You can use some blue painters\' tape to help mark off the area where you will be placing the emblem. Recommended spacing between each symbol is 2mm. When ready to apply the emblem remove the white backing paper from the back of the new emblem, be careful not to touch the adhesive part. Line the emblem up so it\'s straight (you will only have one chance to do this right) and firmly hold the emblem in place for 30 seconds.
