1986 KKK K36 Porsche 962 IMSA GTP-Type Racing Turbocharger
Genuine period Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch (KKK) K36 racing turbocharger, manufactured in West Germany and dating from 1986. The K36 was the large single-turbo configuration used on the air-cooled Porsche 962 IMSA GTP racing engines of this era.
This is a functional vintage racing turbocharger with very little use since being serviced/rebuilt.

History
I acquired this turbocharger with a purpose-built road-race car that had previously been configured with a turbocharged engine.
The builder of the car had owned this K36 for many years. According to him, he previously worked as a mechanic on an IMSA Porsche 962 that ran this type of KKK K36 turbocharger, and this particular turbo was given to him following the racing season.
He subsequently had the turbo rebuilt/serviced and stored it until later installing it on the race-car engine. That combination was run for only a few dyno pulls before the turbocharged engine configuration was removed, so the turbo has accumulated very little operating time since being gone through.
The turbo was fully functional when last operated on the car.
Important Provenance Disclosure
The history above is the history provided to me directly by the previous longtime owner/builder.
I do not have IMSA team records, Porsche documentation, rebuild invoices, or other paperwork establishing this individual turbocharger\'s connection to a specific Porsche 962 chassis or race team. The previous owner does not wish to provide written verification of that history.
For that reason, I am not representing this as a documented chassis-specific Porsche 962 take-off turbocharger. It is being sold as a genuine period KKK K36 with the identification shown in the photos, together with the previous owner\'s stated history.
Likewise, while I was told the turbo was rebuilt/serviced before installation on the car and know that it subsequently completed only a few dyno runs, no rebuild paperwork is included.
Condition
The turbocharger was functional when last operated and has only a few dyno pulls since being serviced/rebuilt according to the previous owner.
