Installation notes:

• Extended side centering rails create slight interference to help stabilize the clip while drilling the bolt hole.
• The designer recommends a 3mm x 10mm LG bolt, and the source example was drilled for a 4mm x 10mm LG bolt.
• With a 4mm bolt, needle nose pliers were used to hold backup on the lock nut because a wrench or socket would not fit.

Additional designer information:

• The design eliminates the bottom-facing flat so the clip engages the clam shell more easily and reduces installation pressure and clip stress.
• The removed bottom-facing flat reduces bending stress by creating a long cantilever arm.
• The engaging clip surface is slightly larger than the OE geometry for a solid locking engagement with the clam shell.
• Additional radii were added to reduce stress when bending.
• The source advises keeping make-up torque to a finished physical item.
