VINTAGE HODAKA WOMBAT 125 EXHAUST PIPE WITH HEAT SHIELD — RESTORATION PROJECT
Up for sale is an original-style vintage Hodaka Wombat 125 high-mounted exhaust pipe with its perforated metal heat shield.
This is a used vintage exhaust system that would make an excellent candidate for someone restoring a Hodaka Wombat or rebuilding a period-correct vintage trail motorcycle.
The pipe has the classic high-mounted exhaust configuration used on early Hodaka off-road motorcycles.
This exhaust is being offered as a restoration project and will require a complete cleaning and inspection before installation.
CONDITION — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
This is an approximately 50-year-old used motorcycle exhaust pipe being sold in its present, unrestored condition.
The pipe has considerable surface rust, oxidation, discoloration, and age-related wear throughout.
Based on my inspection:
• No obvious dents in the exhaust pipe or muffler body.
• No obvious bends or major deformation.
• Perforated metal heat shield is present.
• Mounting brackets are present, as shown in the photographs.
• Exhaust inlet and outlet are present.
• Original-style high-mounted exhaust configuration.
The pipe has NOT been cleaned, refinished, restored, or repainted.
The visible rust appears to be primarily surface rust, but the pipe has not been stripped or internally inspected to determine whether any deeper corrosion or thin metal is present.
THIS PIPE WILL NEED A COMPLETE CLEANUP BEFORE INSTALLATION.
I would recommend thoroughly cleaning the exhaust, removing the surface rust, inspecting the metal and welds, and refinishing it with a suitable high-temperature exhaust coating before installing it on a motorcycle.
I have not attempted to remove the rust or restore the pipe. I have left it in its original used condition so the buyer can determine how they would like to restore it.
The exhaust has not been installed, pressure-tested, or tested on a running motorcycle by me.
IMPORTANT — SILENCER INSERT IS NOT INCLUDED
The removable silencer insert or internal baffle assembly that fits inside the tail end of the exhaust pipe is NOT INCLUDED.
You will receive the exhaust pipe and attached perforated heat shield shown in the photographs.
The buyer will need to supply the appropriate silencer insert or baffle assembly if required for their restoration or intended use.
Please do not assume that this exhaust is complete or ready to install and operate without additional parts or servicing.

The exact model and production year of this particular exhaust have not been positively verified.
The Model 94 and 94A exhaust systems have differences in their cylinder connections, so compatibility between these models should not be assumed.
Other Hodaka models, including the Road Toad, Dirt Squirt, and later Wombat 03, may have similar-looking exhaust systems. However, their exhaust pipes and mounting arrangements are not necessarily interchangeable.
Fitment on those additional models has NOT been confirmed.
Buyers should carefully compare the photographs, exhaust inlet, mounting bracket locations, overall configuration, and dimensions with their original exhaust before purchasing.
