This item inhibits your cars ability to be shifted out of park allowing you to walk away from your running vehicle. When it’s time to leave you press the included balloon style foot pedal hidden under your carpet and that unlocks your shifter. If you don’t want the system activated at all there is a convenient on-off switch to disarm the system. This unit is specifically designed for use in a 2005-2011: Ford Crown Vic, Lincoln Town Car, and Mercury Grand Marquis. However it could be modified to work in any other vehicle with a shift interlock system.
