Why this is sold as a complete set
On this generation of BMW the DDE, the CAS3 module and the key are electronically married to one another. That is why they are offered together and not split: three pieces taken from three different cars will not work together.
Programming — please read before you buy
These modules carry the donor vehicle VIN and ISN. Installing them in a different vehicle requires coding by a qualified technician or a BMW dealer. This applies to every BMW immobilizer set of this generation and is not a defect of these particular parts.
