This is the fuel pressure sensor that monitors fuel pressure for the onboard computer.
If your CEL or Check Engine Light is ON andscan tool indicates P0193 or P0191, there is most likely a problem with theFuel Pressure Sensorcircuit.
When the Fuel Pressure Sensor has failed or is failing, it can cause a host of problems.
- Check Engine Lightwill illuminate
- Fuel Consumption may be higher than normal
- Tail pipe emissions may smell unusual
- Engine hesitation or stalling
- Engine may die/stall at stop signs
- Fuel trim codes (P0172 fuel system to rich) may be triggered
- Vehicle fails emissions test
- In rare cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
