Summary: Needed to raise my chevelle so it would stop hitting on the ground, I have a big block and old springs were done and wouldn't hold the weight anymore. Decided to get these since someone's review was complaining about how it raised his up like a monster truck, and thats all I needed to hear lol. So my car is lowered 3" in the back and has 2" drop spindles in front so I cut off a coil to drop it another 1" . These are stout and I'm hopeful like another review that after driven it will drop another 3/4" but time will tell

Summary: 66 LeMans was 25" floor to fender lip at center of wheel before. After install of these Elgin 5272 springs, and after settling was 27", which is what I wanted. Springs settled about 3/4" from initial install after a test drive and a week of sitting. I used a spring compressor to compress about 1.25" and they popped right into lower control arms with upper ball joint disconnected.

Summary: Compressing them I had to use a ratchet strap at the end to get them in the a arms. But other than that they are great.

Cons: Was fun compressing them!

Pros: Paint is durable on springs.
