Billet Aluminum Coolant Port Fitting Upgrade for BMW
Some of the biggest issues when owning this car can come from cooling system components. Even through years of improvement, the same failure is seen with the plastic fittings and adapters from years of hot to cold temperature fluctuation. The N54 engine sees failure at the plastic cylinder head outlet adapter connecting the cylinder head to the thermostat hose. The stock plastic adapter simply shears off at the end of the barbed fitting, creating a massive coolant leak.

Installation Tips:Remove two 10mm bolts.Remove the old fitting from the engine block. The O-ring needs to be removed as well as it may get stuck inside.Clean the outlet on the engine block. Remove any remaining pieces from the coolant hose.Install the new fitting. Lubricate the seal O-ring before installation. Tighten the two 10 mm bolts.Slide the coolant hose on the outlet port.
