Vintage 1970’s “Cycle Leather Wear” bespoke motorcycle jacket in amazing condition. It’s very heavy and I believe it to be horsehide. If not, it’s a heavy duty steerhide. This is one of the best jackets I’ve come across and IMHO the holy grail of PNW vintage motorcycle gear.
Made by Jo Carney, Seattle, Washington. All her jackets were custom made so no two are alike. She worked closely with the Jolly Rogers Motorcycle Club, including police departments and anyone else that wanted a quality, custom jacket.
All zippers function as they should. Front is a heavy duty YKK and an aftermarket heavy brass zipper pull has been added which makes for easier use with gloves. The cuff zippers are “Z” brand. Padded reinforced shoulders with a quilted lining. Front has flap pockets as well as zip pockets with wool lining, there are also two sizable inside slip pockets.
9” Side inserts with leather lacing. Reinforced elbows.
There are two tiny pin holes on the left chest as shown. Lower one is barely visible.
No size tag. I would call this a medium or size 42.
Pit to pit 44”, shoulder to base 24” with a longer back, underarm to end of sleeve 19.5”, top of shoulder to cuff 26”, straight across shoulders 19”, base is 35” with adjustment outward.
