Up for sale is a rare, original 1937–1938 Nash Ambassador (or possibly Lafayette) horn button cap.Often when we went to swap meets and Jack was looking for specific parts for his projects, I would just see something that caught my eye... and so I bought it. This was one of those things.... the very cool Art Deco style really screamed out to me... and so many years later here I am. We are getting to the point that we have to sell our treasures and thin down the pile that we leave to our son.
This horn button features beautiful pre-war Art Deco styling with the classic diagonally split Nash shield (red sunburst on the left, textured stone on the right) framed by raised horizontal chrome speed lines.
MATERIAL & CONDITION DETAILS:- Construction: Solid die-cast metal housing with a factory painted/enameled finish. - Front Face: Shows honest vintage character, with visible surface scratches and light paint wear from decades of use, as shown in the photos. The original colored detailing remains highly visible.- Reverse/Backing: Excellent structural condition for a pre-war part. Crucially, all three of the rear metal locking ears/mounting tabs are completely intact and unbroken. The central copper grounding ring contact plate is also firmly in place.
