This is a real deal OEM 1966-1967 L79 327/350HP aluminum intake manifold. The casting number is 3890490 as shown. The 3890490 aluminum intake was only used on the 1966-1967 L-79 327/350HP engines in Corvettes and Chevy II/Novas. That\'s right, this intake was only used for two years, on two models and on one specific limited production high performance engine. This intake was rare when new and is a very hard to find part today.
This is a nice original intake in survivor condition. It is in bare aluminum finish and does not appear to have ever been sand or glass bead blasted. I used plastic media to remove debris without altering the factory finish. The casting number, firing order, and all importing Winter\'s foundry snowflake casting are all intact and undisturbed. All threads are in good condition with no helicoils or thread inserts. One thermostat ho The ports are stock with no port work. The coolant ports are in good condition with no significant corrosion. The only modification I see is \"M Mckee\" lightly stamped on the #7 runner as shown. The underside is in good shape the steel heat shield intact. During cleaning, the splash shield was removed to reveal the casting date of 10.8.65. The splash shield has since been reinstalled. Of coarse, the casing date can not be seen with the splash shield on and most certainly can\'t be seen when the intake is mounting since it is on the underside. This is a nice survivor 3890490 intake. It would look great installed on a survivor type car as is or would restore to a high level.
