The optional windshield channel may be required unless you have a factory original style soft on your Jeep already. The windshield (or header) channel clamps to the top of the windshield. You insert the front edge plastic retainer on this Sun Top into the channel to keep the leading edge secure during highway speeds.

This upgraded material is Sailcloth Vinyl. Sailcloth is an original material for the 2007-2013 JK series Wrangler with the \"sail grain\" pattern on the exterior. Sailcloth also has enhanced acoustic properties that lower the noise levels at highway speeds.
