• 1946 1947 1948 Mercury Convertible Hydraulic Conversion.For Cars with VACUUM CYLINDERS or SCREW JACK TOPS or FIREWALL PUMPS with TOP VALVE.Conversion Kit to change the power for your convertible top to something that works! For cars with Vacuum tops, Screw Jack tops, Cars with Fire-Wall pumps or cars with manual tops.You will receive a modern bi-directional pump, 2 new cylinders with the attaching parts - made to fit your car *, a set of hoses, and the wiring harness with switch to operate your new pump.Typically the pump is mounted under the rear seat beside the drive shaft tunnel. The switch will be mounted in one of the holes under the dash. Wiring will run from the battery to the switch, behind the kick panel, under the sill plate and under the carpet to the pump under the rear seat.This system will NOT operate hydraulic power windows - windows will still need original pump or must be converted to either manual windows or electric motors (Hot Rod magazines always list vendors that can help convert your windows).
  Kit includes the following:1) Motor, pump and reservoir (6v or 12v) Please specify.
  2) TWO Top cylinders
  3) Cylinder Yokes to attach to the top
  4) Set of hoses
  5) Top switch and wire harness
  6) Mounting pins w/hairpins
  Come with directions. Tools required are basic mechanic tools. The best fluid to use is auto transmission fluid (Dexron is perfect).* We try to make the mounting of the cylinders the same as the original parts but sometimes the new parts will not be exactly the same. Some fitting will be needed.We do not have all the measurements for all cars - we MAY have to ask you for a sample Jack or Cylinder that will be returned to you along with your new parts.
