DESCRIPTION: This is an ORIGINAL and very rare Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang promo poster. It was produced for dealerships and was also available at a few larger Ford events in 2008. It features the iconic return of the KR in 2008. Only a limited number of posters were produced.

ABOUT THE KR:

Why it returned: The Shelby KR returned to Ford in the 2008 model year, with a new generation of the GT500KR being released by Shelby American as a 40th-anniversary edition. The return of the "King of the Road" honored the original 1968 model and was based on the Ford Shelby GT500 . The 2008 GT500KR was created by Ford's SVT (Special Vehicle Team) and Shelby American to celebrate the heritage of the iconic "King of the Road" name.
• What it was: It was a special package built on top of the standard GT500 model, featuring a unique carbon-fiber hood, upgraded suspension, and a more powerful, supercharged V8 engine.
• Production numbers: 1,000 cars were produced for the 2008 model year, with demand so high that an additional 712 were built for 2009, totaling 1,712 units to match the original 1968 run.

CONDITION: This poster is NEW and in VERY GOOD condition! These have NO tears or fold lines. The edges are clean. It is printed on standard glossy paper.

SIZE: Standard 36" x 24"

RATING: 8.5/10. Very good/near great. Orignal poster, not a reprint. There are light waves in the body of the poster. If you were to mat/frame this poster, you would not notice any flaws.

HOW WE SHIP POSTERS: We've been shipping posters through USPS for over 25 years. Posters are stored flat, then we carefully roll our posters to fit in a 2" plastic sleeve. Then it is placed in a thick 2.5 inch cardboard tube. The extra .5 inch space gives extra protection against if/when the shipping tube gets dinged. In the past, that ding would usually result in creasing of the poster. Since we started sleeving our posters about 10 years ago, not one has been damaged in transit. We tape the end caps down to secure the poster inside. Tracking is added to all shipments. All orders are generally shipped within one business day, unless we are closed for a short vacation or we're attending a Mustang show with our mobile store.

THE ODD THING ABOUT USPS TRACKING: We place our shipping labels horizontally on the shipping tube to allow for a better reading of the tracking barcode. However, many of the USPS automated tracking scanners (that scan shipments along the way) still have trouble reading lables on a round package. You'll aways see the initial scan from Lakewood, CA, but sometimes your package isn't scanned again until it's delivered.
