*** I have been in the Automotive Electrical business since the mid 60s. When I rebuild a generator of this vintage I most normally resolderthe armature and than turn and undercut the commutator, than change the bearing, bushing, brushes, and lacquere the fields. Than I run it on test bench for twenty to thirty minutes to make sure all was good. I install a pulley for testing as its air cooled, though I am NOT selling the pulley with the generator. I figure you will have yourold one to use on it, they are easy enough to change and valuable. But if you need one though I can install one, we can work out the extra price.I have been doing this is my own shop for over fifty years and now do just vintage ones. I thought I had done this longer than anybody. But there are others selling here on that have been at it just as long.I have always looked at rebuilding as recycling, I try to reuse as many parts of the original as possible and most often the used parts are better thannew replacement. I strive to make sure its service life of any parts is as long as it was when new. Most all of the generators I work on are as much as a hundred years old and do not look new but I try to make them look as nice or as close to new as possible. And if your are working on a show car or fine point let me know at time of sale, we can work out a deal to make itlook as close to an new old stock as possible.  Most generators will need brushes and bushing changed every 30 or 40 thousand miles, if one I sellreaches that point I will take care of it for you for the price of shipping. I will give this a life time warranty (my lifetime) no matter what the cause. I am 66 and probably have another 10 years left in me and I can’t imagineto many costomers wearing it out in that amount of time, if so I will repairit for free less shipping. If this fails because of a problem with the car or pickup I will cover repairing it also as long as you cover shipping. And than walk you through toubleshooting and repairs on the car. Look at my reviews of over a 1000 with all positive. Its hard to saywithout looking at it but most generally fairly cheap to repair. and we willknow we will have the application right if i repair yours. also after evaluatingI can determine if something external form your unit caused it to fail. So there is huge advantages to repair over replace. I do live remote and only come I only come into town once or twice a week, so depending when you order is it canbe a couple of days to be shipped. I can make a special trip if need be. I mightbe a few dollars more expensive but you do get my life time of experience via phoneon any electrical toubleshooting.
