Original vintage Guide R-H5 tombstone taillight assembly for early Harley-Davidson applications.
Inside of housing is clearly stamped GUIDE 5936298 MADE IN U.S.A.
Red glass lens is marked HARLEY-DAVIDSON across the top and GUIDE R-H5 along the bottom.
This assembly has the early screw-mounted license plate bracket configuration associated with 1947–1948 Guide tombstone lights.
Condition / important defects:
Red glass taillight lens is cracked in the upper section.
Chrome housing/body also has a crack near the upper portion.
Clear upper/license-plate illumination lens appears intact and is not cracked.
Chrome has age, oxidation, scratches, dirt, pitting and general wear.
Interior shows age, corrosion and grime consistent with a vintage unrestored part.
Electrical operation has not been tested.
Includes the Guide housing, Harley-Davidson / Guide R-H5 marked red lens, clear upper lens, chrome bezel/door, retaining hardware and license-plate bracket as pictured.
Believed applicable to period Harley-Davidson Knucklehead, Panhead, Flathead/UL/WL and Servicar models using the Guide tombstone lamp. Buyer should confirm exact fitment for their motorcycle.
Sold exactly as pictured. Please examine all photographs closely, particularly the cracked red lens and cracked housing. No attempt has been made to repair, rechrome or restore the assembly.
