The first year for the SVT Mustang Cobra R debuted with limited production, only 107 vehicles were made. A modern display of Ford’s commitment to racing, the Cobra R was built with a form follows function mentality. Anything that contributed excess weight was eliminated - including the backseat, radio, air-conditioning and sound dampening material. Heavy-duty MacPherson struts, a front-strut tower brace and Koni™ shocks boosted this car ahead of its little brother, the SVT Mustang Cobra. This vehicle was by far the most nimble Fox-body Mustang in production.
