The 500 Superfast was Ferrari's most expensive model at the time, and the 36 that were produced went to only the wealthiest of customers. Despite it being Ferrari's second longest car ever built, the 500 Superfast still managed to have impressive performance due to its 400 hp V12. 25 of the cars were made with a 4-speed gearbox, with the remaining cars having Ferrari's new 5-speed transmission.
