The SS Performance/Appearance Package added even more "beef" to an already muscular car for 2001. It included added horsepower (325 vs. the Z28’s 310), a forced-air composite hood, special SS badging, a unique rear spoiler, low-restriction/ dual-outlet exhaust with larger pipes, power steering cooler, High Performance Ride and Handling package and special SS 17-inch aluminum wheels with speed-rated Goodyear Eagle F1 P275/40ZR-17 tires. The SS package could be ordered with either the 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
