1968 was the second year the L88 was offered for the Corvette. Factory claims listed the L88 V8 producing 430 hp, but dyno testing on a "68 L88 found it had 560 hp.
For 1968 the L88 engine package included aluminum heads, 12.5 to 1 compression, hi-lift cam, a 850 CFM 4 barrel carb, heavy duty brakes, a power blister hood, heavy duty suspension, and a high performance transmission.
Only 80 Corvette L88's were produced in 1968.
