Source: Brabus 426 hp from 6.1-liter displacement, a maximum torque of 458 lb-ft torque at 4,100 rpm, 0 - 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph: The BRABUS 6.1 increased-displacement engine turns the CLK 500 into a purebred sportscar. The displacement increase of the eight-cylinder engine, available for € 24.050, is facilitated by a custom crankshaft milled from one piece with longer stroke and larger pistons. In addition the cylinder heads are remachined and fitted with custom camshafts. The BRABUS sport exhaust with high-performance catalysts also contributes to the impressive power output as do custom programmed engine electronics. Stainless-steel BRABUS sport exhaust systems and sport rear muffler are also available. BRABUS designers further developed a sporty yet elegant aerodynamic enhancement package for the new CLK. The BRABUS front spoiler bumper like the rear valance is designed to use the original mounting points and are easily exchanged for the stock part. The BRABUS front spoiler lends the CLK a more striking appearance and improves aerodynamic lift at high speeds. The BRABUS rear valance features a custom-tailored cutout for the BRABUS sport exhaust with two chrome-plated tailpipes. The exclusive BRABUS look for the new Mercedes CLK coupe with one-piece or multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with 17-, 18-, or 19-inch diameters. The largest available wheel/tire combination features multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock V or VI wheels in size 8.5Jx19 on the front axle and 10Jx19 in the rear. Extensive tests proved Michelin or Pirelli tires in sizes 235/35 ZR 19 front and 265/30 ZR 19 on the rear axle to be optimal. Sporty handling characteristics in combination with excellent ride comfort are the mainstay of BRABUS suspensions which were developed for all engine types in close cooperation with technology partner SACHS Race Engineering. The list of options ranges from lowering springs to sport sway bar kits to complete sport suspensions. Updated 01:57 PM - December 02, 2008
