0 - 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 182 mph: With its 5.8 liter V8 with 400 hp the new BRABUS C V8 based on the Mercedes C-Class W 203 sets new performance standards for compact sports sedans.

The heart of the BRABUS C V8 is a 5.8 liter version of the eight-cylinder three-valve powerplant of the S 500, which found a new home in the tight confines of the small engine bay of the current C- Class. To increase its displacement BRABUS uses a custom block, a crankshaft with longer stroke and larger pistons. In addition, the cylinders are fine-machined and fitted with custom camshafts. Reprogrammed engine electronics and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with performance headers and metal catalysts, built specifically for the BRABUS C V8, also contribute to the impressive power output. The engine and the customized five-speed automatic transmission, which transfers power to the rear axle, are both operated using ARAL high-performance lubricants.

With 400 hp and a maximum torque of 427 lb-ft torque, available between 3,300 and 4,700 rpm, the BRABUS C V8 achieves extraordinary performance: The four-door sedan accelerates in just 4.9 seconds to 60 mph and reaches a top speed of 182 mph.

At such speeds highly efficient aerodynamics are essential: The BRABUS front spoiler gives the C V8 a striking front and reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds. The BRABUS rear apron with integrated diffuser provides optimal aerodynamic balance.

The incredible performance places great demands on tires, suspension and brakes. The BRABUS C V8 is equipped with split-rim BRABUS Monoblock V light-alloy wheels in sizes 8.5Jx19 on the front axle and 9.5Jx19 in the rear. These attractive multi-spoke wheels are fitted with tires in size 235/35 ZR 19 in front and 265/30 ZR 19 on the rear axle. BRABUS recommends Michelin or Pirelli high-performance tires.

Another custom development for the C V8 is a comfortable sports suspension, developed jointly by BRABUS and its technology partner SACHS. It features gas-pressure shocks, progressive springs and custom stabilizers.

The BRABUS C V8 comes equipped with six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355-millimeter perforated and internally ventilated discs on the front axle. The rear axle is fitted with 300- millimeter discs and four-piston aluminum fixed calipers. The high-performance brake system was tuned to harmonize with the standard driving dynamics systems ABS, ASR and ESP. It is virtually free from fading and offers maximum durability and braking power even under extreme stress.

The BRABUS C V8 interior is particularly refined with its applications of remarkably soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather. For safe vehicle control the sedan comes equipped with an ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel with airbag. The car's sporty character is further emphasized by polished BRABUS aluminum parts like foot pedals and gearshift lever.
