The 2007 North American International Auto Show is under way, and a full lineup of new production and concept vehicles. Many of the American vehicles broke cover early, including the Camaro Convertible Concept that will become a production car by 2009, and a new 600 horsepower Viper coupe and roadster with a new hood and an interior upgrade. The Ford group introduced the 4-door, Mustang-based Interceptor Concept as well as the Lincoln MKR Concept that is utilizing the new TwinForce 3.5-liter V6 that will make an appearance in upcoming production models.
Lexus was busy at the show, unveiling its new high-peformance IS-F sedan with a 400-horsepower V8 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission as well as a new near-production ready version of the LF-A Concept that originally debuted two years ago. The LF-A features the same engine in the IS-F sedan, and is capable of reaching 200 mph. Another exciting concept from the Toyota group is the FT-HS Concept, a V6 hybrid sports car with 400 horsepower that Toyota describes as a “suitable sports car for the 21st century.”
Some other vehicles introduced at the show include the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept, and the Mitsubishi Prototype X. See below for a list of vehicles added to the site:
