February 3, 2006 - Adrian Sutil, the alternate driver for A1 Team Germany, has followed the example of A1 Team Switzerland's Neel Jani and A1 Team USA's Scott Speed in landing a Formula 1 deal for the 2006 season.

The 22-year-old German, who has a best A1GP finish of 12th although he has run higher up the order in several races, has just signed to be the junior driver for MidlandF1. This means that the Bavarian will undertake test driving duties for the rebranded Jordan team as well as perform the role of third driver in Friday testing at selected Grands Prix.

Speed has a full race seat ahead of him for 2006 with Scuderia Toro Rosso (formerly Minardi), for whom A1GP pace-setter Jani will be the third driver.
