Rare Classic Sports/Race Car: 1961 MASERATI TIPO 61...
Note to those who are searching for “perfect”...OUR BOXES ARE NOT PERFECT: OUR BOXES MAY HAVE DENTS, CUTS AND/or WRITING ON THEM FROM PREVIOUS OWNERS AND/or SHIPPING LABELS.
The love of automobiles led us to start our involvement in this hobby.
Eight years ago, we became purchasers/investors in rare, high quality, die cast cars. Now, after eight years of buying thousands of rare pieces this is our first attempt to offer some of our acquisitions to other collectors worldwide. RARE, BUT NOT PERFECT’s mission statement: To offer the rarest and most aesthetically pleasing die cast replicas of the most remarkable automobiles ever made.
Our organization is dedicated to the “car guy” that loves what these historical cars represent: the power of human ingenuity, sculpted into an art form.
Most of our offerings are rare die cast replicas of the greatest cars ever built. Many of our offerings are long “out of production” meaning these models are not being produced any more, thus making our offerings usually “rare, but not perfect,” as our name implies. All of our offerings should be considered relatively rare, out of production, previously owned models, and not delivered in perfect inner or outer boxes.
If you have any questions about any of our offerings or notice any possible listing errors feel free to contact us by using the question icon button provided in our listing. Asking our patrons for help and tolerance: We at Rare, But Not Perfect pack each and every order. Please understand that models can shift in transit which sometimes causes a model’s part to become loose or fall off. Usually, these parts can be snapped or glued back in place. Also, any small blemishes, fingerprints, or even scratches can, many times, be buffed out with regular car wax. We ask for your help in these isolated instances.
This hobby we love centers around fragile artifacts. Remember, we are dealing with model cars here; they are just a little more sophisticated than the ones we admired as kids! A tube of super glue and some automotive wax or polish goes a long way in this wonderful hobby. Enjoy these miniature reproductions of some of the world’s greatest automobiles as a reminder that life is good, but not perfect.
GOOD (G) obvious signs of mishandling, but still a presentable model. There may be paint damage and broken or missing parts. POOR (P) severely mishandled, large surface damage, many missing or broken parts, should be considered suitable for restoration or spare parts only. RESTORATION/REPAINT (R) model not in original condition having been either restored and/or repainted.
GOOD all complete, though with heavier shelf wear or mishandling, with noticeable cuts, creasing and possible crushing of box in some way. May have more extensive writing, mailing tape or mailing labels on outer factory box. POOR severely worn with missing or partially detached flaps, cuts, creasing and/or crush damage. REPRO reproduction of original box.
These grading scales are provided only as a guide; they are subjective and only one’s personal opinion, purchasers should make their own judgments. Rare, but Not Perfect stands behind every item we sell. We strive for Five Star response. If Within seven days of delivery, you feel unsatisfied with your purchase and safely return it to us at your own expense, A REFUND WILL BE ISSUED UPON RETURN OF that purchase. However, please understand, THERE IS NO REFUND ON any shipping cost (to or fro). Have fun and enjoy this great car hobby.
