Welcome to Harveys-Matchbox on !
Hello, many of you will recognize that name from my other listings here on . I'm in the process of setting up a new store in english especially for the US. As won't let me open a second store besides my german one under the same ID i had to set up this new ID "harveys-matchbox-us". So, unfortunaly i have to start from scratch with this new ID, if you would like to know how i performed in the past please check my response recieved for harveys-matchbox!
Please feel free to browse through my shop listings under my other ID ( most are in german but i will maintain the listings in english there untill this one here works fine ) and my online shop
and ask any questions you might have. Also please check my About Me page for more informations about my background, shipping and payment options.
If you're a serious Matchbox Collector check out my store, full of vintage Matchbox models ( 1-75 Regular Wheels & Superfast, King Size ), catalogs, Giftsets, Displays, Accessories....Lesney Matchbox 1-75 Regular Wheels Pre-productions
This is one of my main fields of interest, prototypes, pre-production and colour trial models. These are models in early stage of development to check the correct fit of all parts, casting details and finally the possible body & interior colour combinations. If you got any kind of such pre-pro model for sale ( or would be interested in a trade against any of my listed models ) feel free to contact me.
Here i can offer:
Regular Wheel No. 33C Lamborghini Miura, yellow body, white interior,
tow guide cast on base! This is an early pre-production model with a
unique story. The earlier pre-pros all had white interiors, this was
changed to red for obvious reasons: would YOU have ordered an yellow
Lamborghini with white leather seats? A few production model have been
fitted with left over white interiors from the pre-production era but
these are quite rare. This model here has an even more interesting story
to tell: it has an tow guide cast to the front of the base, a feature
added to most models in the second half of the 60's to enchance the play
value. Now, at that time the only vehicle available to tow it was the
No.13D Dodge Wreck Truck. If you would have put this model on the
Dodge's hook - the rear end of the car would have touched the ground as
the model was sitting really low on the surface just like the real
Miura. It could not be towed! To avoid dissapointment with the
"customers" like us the tow guide was removed for production, to my
knowledge this is the only vehicle to which that happend. Most other
vehicle's in the range got the tow guide feature added at that time. To
rub salt in the wound of the Lesney engineers - the same thing happend
again in 1969 with the Superfast version of this model. Truly a piece of
Matchbox 1-75 history from a great time! The body colour is slightly
darker then production models and the interior has casting differencies
to the later standard production pieces - you can't fake this model be
using an later white interior from the Superfast models! In excellent
condition with a few small chips, unboxed.
Model condition: 8.5Questions about the boxtypes? Here is a overview of the boxtypes for the 1-75 Regular Wheel series. If needed i will provide additional pictures and details, just contact me.
