I am mostly a builder, buyer, and seller of vintage plastic model kits but I have purchased some select diecast models over the years. I appreciate a good model. This listing is for a hard to find, very limited edition (1 of 2,000) ERTL Pro Shops Series 1/18 scale # 6 Mark Martin 2000 Valvoline Ford Taurus. This is the original and only ERTL production of this car in this scale. This is a clear window model and is brand new in the box and in mint condition. I am the original owner of this die cast model which was purchased new through a local retailer. It has been out of production for quite a while now and it has been stored in the box since new and never displayed. I opened it once when new to inspect it before purchase, and again to take pictures for this sale. It is unblemished and comes with the original model box which is also in excellent condition. I haveposted a series of photos into the store listing for you.
The model features opening hood, accurate engine detail, correct NASCAR and Mark Martin, Valvoline sponsor markings, and realistic racing chassis and interior. Mark has been one of the most successful NASCAR drivers over the past 2 decades. Winner of 40 career Cup races, he has been a tough competitor where ever he races for a long time. The year 2000 saw Mark coming off a 2 victory season and a third in Cup points. Mark would win one race in 2000 (at Martinsville) and finish in the top 5 twelve times and the top ten 19 times in 34 races finishing in eighth place in the final point standings. This model is a replica of the Ford Taurus that Mark drove during that 2000 season. In my humble opinion this Ford bodied replica in this scale is one of the best that ERTL produced. This model does capture the swoopy race car looks of the NASCAR Taurus of that era. This model has been out of production for a quite a while now is very hard to find. If you have been looking for this model, here is your chance purchase it. It would make a terrific addition to your collection!
This 1/18 Scale die cast model weighs between 3 and 4 pounds packed in a Priority Mail shipping carton. I entered this amount into the shipping calculator. I double check all actual shipping weights and costs after shipping and if necessary I will refund any excess shipping charge
