I am mostly a builder, buyer, and seller of vintage plastic model kits but I have purchased some select diecast models over the years. As a long time NASCAR fan and model car builder, I found some of these diecast to be terrific models. This listing is for a limited edition (1 of 5,004) ACTION 1/24 scale #9 Jerry Nadeau 1999 Jetsons Ford Taurus NASCAR stock car. This is the original and only Action production of this car in this scale. This is a clear window model and is brand new in the box and in mint condition. I am the original owner of this die cast model which was purchased new through a local retailer. It has been out of production for quite a while now and it has been stored in the box since new and never displayed. I opened it once when new to inspect it before purchase, and again to take pictures for this listing. It is unblemished and comes with the original model box which is also in excellent condition. I have provided a series of pictures of the model from all sides.
The model features opening hood and trunk, accurate engine detail, correct NASCAR and Jerry Nadeau Cartoon Network Jetsons sponsor markings, and realistic racing chassis and interior. Jerry Nadeau was a very hard driving NASCAR racer in an all too brief career shorted by a violent practice wreck at the Richmond International Raceway on May 2, 2003. Jerry drove for about 5 and half seasons in the Winston Cup Series. He won his only cup race at the season ending race in 2000 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway driving for Rick Hendrick. This model is a replica of the specially painted car with the Cartoon Network Jetsons Paint scheme that Jerry drove at the Sears Point and Watkins Glen Road Course Races in 1999 for Harry and Mark Melling. Jerry grabbed his best finish of the season (5th Place) in this car at Watkins Glen. This model has been out of production for a quite a while now.
