Features of the car
Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick's 1964 Pontiac GTO Pro Mod race car runs a 572 C.I. dual quad engine pumping out 1500 HP with a full tube chassis,
shortened rear, modern day race interior, rear wing, parachutes and removeable wheelie bars.
This model also features the trademark "Tameless Tiger" orange, white and black paint scheme.
This car is #11 in the Sun Star Limited Edition Pontiac GTO Series.
Mr. Beswick had a terrible accident in the original "Tameless Tiger I" Pro Mod at Mid America Raceway at Wentzville, MO.
on August 3rd. 2003 and much of the original car was destroyed by a fire caused by a faulty nitros solenoid.
Mr. Beswick's crew chief, family, friends and sponsors all pulled together to literally rebuild the Tiger from the ashes.
The first "Tameless Tiger" was campaigned from 1996-2003 and the new car "Tameless Tiger II"
is the car that Mr. Beswick still campaigns across the country in exhibition and match racing today.
His inaugural run down the track with "Tameless Tiger II" was in August 2006 at Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova IL at the age of 76
and he turned 80 years old in 2010! The 572 cubic inch powered "Tameless Tiger II" GTO is capable of turning 7 second quarter mile passes at 200 M.P.H.
which is fast in anyones book. He began racing back in 1951 and started running Pontiac's in 1958,
so he's been with Pontiac for most of his career and has campaigned various cars in Stock, Super Stock, AF/X and Funny Car classes.
He has won many class victories and national events during his career and was known as "Mr. Stock Eliminator".
Mr. Beswich was also the first driver to break into the 9 second elapsed time bracket and then into the 8 second bracket in stock bodied cars
and in recent years he has been honored with several achievement awards and Hall of Fame inductions
. THE TIGER IS ON THE LOOSE so make sure to watch for him to be storming down a drag strip near you!
This is a LIMITED EDITION reproduction of the "Tameless Tiger II" GTO and it will look fantastic parked next to
the replica of the "Tameless Tiger I" and all of the other 1:18th scale diecast replicas of Mr. Beswick's Pontiac race cars.
