Be Very Careful
I got my key fob right away and appears to be new and perfect. However...For my particular model and year, M-B is the ONLY source of these fobs, and they come from the factory programmed according to the VIN...then you have to pay an additional hefty fee to the dealer for final programming...and an additional hefty fee to cut the steel chauffeur key that is embedded in the fob. So despite my attempt to buy a spare key here, I'm stuck with a $500 bill from Mercedes. THIS IS NOT THE SAME with all cars. Some of them can be programmed with the car itself, and some can be programmed by a competent locksmith, but before buying one of these fobs, you should check out the situation with your particular year and model. Mine is an '07 SL550.I got my key fob right away and appears to be new and perfect. MBZ will not cut these keys
I purchased a Mercedes key Fob like this and took it to my local dealer and they refused to cut the key, which is unfortunate and I had to send it back. It’s also unfortunate because I ended up having to spend over $300 to get a second key for my car which is just a total rip. But MBZ has a lock on the market, Oh and I also took it to three different locksmiths who said they would will touch itI purchased a Mercedes key Fob like this and took it to my local dealer and they refused to cut the key, which is unfortunate and I had to send it back. It’s also unfortunate because I ended up having to spend over $300 to get a second key for my car which is just a total rip. Always Problems
Specifically wanted the replacement key Fob to be for a 2007 mecedes benz E-350 not a SL550 and now magically now I am being shipped something other than what I needed it to be. I placed an order for this items with the reassurance that it was something that I could use. A E-350 is not A SL550
