Stated fitment incorrect (does not fit E85 Z4)
The male splines on the terminal (smaller) gear which interfaces with/drives the hood latch mechanism are of the incorrect size for the E85 Z4: they are coarser than the female splines they need to interface with. Luckily, I was able to salvage the original gear with the correct, fine splines, and use the new worm gear that came with this kit. There, the metal (brass) gear is a substantial upgrade from the garbage plastic OEM gear. Frankly, it is not clear to me if the spline size issue falls on the manufacturer for claimed fitment, or on the seller for inferring fitment. Some parts not usable
The splines on the gear were wrong and couldn't be used and the plastic bushings couldn't be used either because they were too tight. The main thing i was after was the gear with the longer shaft worked great which is what I was after. If all you need is the 1 gear, it's no problem because the price is good either way.

lacks precision necessary in critical part
The shaft of the shorter/bottom axis that should snug fit to rod shafts but it doesn't the radius is bigger so after 4hrs of work mounting and testing had to undone the whole thing and replace it with the ol one..not fun..
