After removing it I noticed some of the brass insert came out with the cap screw. Also the cap screw seemed to have some corrosion. I will need a new clamp and a new cap screw please.

A good fairing option for a budget upgrade
I installed the fairing and it fits well for my 2003 Honda VTX 1800R. The lower brackets attached to the headlight bracket bolts and the upper brackets attached to the handlebars. Both went on relatively easy and provides a stable connection to keep the fairing on. Even though I have 10” apes installed, the fairing provides good coverage for where the grips are positioned. This is a great, and reasonably priced alternative to the (much) more expensive fairings with all the bells and whistles. I only needed the fairing to provide some wind protection during longer rides across country and didn’t need any extras or an inner fairing for any additional functions or storage.I installed the fairing and it fits well for my 2003 Honda VTX 1800R. Not universal fit
This says it's a universal fit with a long list of models it fits. My bike was on the list so I ordered it. There were no instructions included, just figure it out on your own. The top brackets fit fine, but the lower brackets didn't fit anywhere. I had to buy clips to attach to the forks to try to rig something, still didn't work. I finally ended up taking the lower brackets off another batwing I had, swapped them out and finally got it to fit. Well maxed. Fits awesome. Only have a small amount of vibrations on the handle bars as you would get with any batwing fairing. Would buy again, and your able to change out front windshields.

Took me about six hours to get a line between two days I know looks nice on my bike once I got the adjustments made to where I was satisfied looks good just wish the package came with extra hardware such as nuts and bolts I had lost a nut and had to go to my nearest Home Depot to find a replacement and pick up some extra space washers happy with the quality and the way it looks on my bike and the price was reasonable.
