Ordered this to go in an old pickup truck. a 1988 F-250 4X4 Diesel regular cab, no extra space for a sub. Got it installed and tuned to the rest of the system. This was just the ticket that was needed to make an old truck rock. This truck is my sixteen year olds pride and joy , he can pull his Horses around and enjoy the music . This won't win a sound competition but its more than enough for this truck, mounted to the back wall, it doesn't take away from putting the seat all the way back. It was easy to set up and works great! It might not fit every purpose but was just what was needed for this set up.

I have quite a few of these various compact subs. In this size and price range, this is the best it'll get, and most of the options in this price range are not reputable brands. This substantially outperforms the same size and weight no-name unit my wife had. i have a couple of the Kicker PT250s, which are larger, more expensive, and with a 10" sub instead of this Blaupunkt 8". If Kicker were to make an 8" version, it would sound comparable to this Blaupunkt unit. In a car, this will make the stereo sound "nice". It won't pound - not possible in this form factor. Don't use it outside - like in a boat. With no room to reinforce the sound, outdoor applications need more than double the wattage to sound good. But for my wife's jeep and my daughters jeep, they love this unit as their stereo (even with the top off) sounds quite nice at "starting to get loud" volumes. If you want the max amount of bass it can put out, turn up the gain and use minimal bass boost. Bass boost increases the lowest frequencies but they happen to be the frequencies that a shallow 8" speaker will struggle with the most. Turn that down and you'll get more overall bass - more bass guitar, less "hit" from the kick.Read full review

Has ok bass for what it is. But you can put this sub and amp anywhere due to its size. Think I will buy another and run two under my back seat of my truck and see if that gets more bass out of them. Good value.

A nice little active sub. I had to use the hi-ins from my rear speakers from my factory deck. Surprisingly there is no pop when turning on the car or acc. Put out a little more bass than expecting considering its only 300W max/100W rms. Is enough bass to shake my mirrors in my Elantra. I turned the LPF all the way up and gain 75%, its a clean simple install, still thumps pretty good without dimming your lights. Not crazy loud, but there is enough there to make a small statement driving down the road.
