Getting to the module buried deep in the dash is a lot of work in a 1998 C1500. Today, Gilchrist Chevrolet charged me just over $1,700 to get Passlock system to work, and it took them over 3 weeks -- mush having to do with awaiting parts. If one is an experienced DIY'r, good luck with your project. Item description was accurate and seemed to work on leaving dealership today, shipping time was 8 days, and had no direct communication with seller since making the order online.

    Solved, engine starts and immediately dies

    After trying numerous bypass options I decided to replace this part to see what it would do. I have a 1999 Escalade (Luxury) which has some items that are different from the base models and locating the part was time consuming. Finally located the part below the Radio. After spending hours trying to get the part disconnected I decided to cut an access hole in the plastic that would be covered up by the lower final plastic part. If you do this be sure to move any wiring behind that might be damaged during the process and start with 4 small hole saws so as not to have potential sharp corners that might split and take it slow and easy. This works great on my model not sure about others, could have saved me many hours.

    99 Suburban

    My Suburban starts and runs after reprogramming. I ordered after midnight Wednesday, got a shipping confirmation just after 10:00am Thursday, and it arrived in Oklahoma Sat morning. My issue was an ittermitent, but would include a solid Security light with a start and die on the first try, and it seemed to happen most often on humid mornings with rain or heavy dew. Hope this does the trick.
