NA miata short shifter. Fit right in. It decreased throw by half from about 4" to 2" . So short now. Replace rubber shift boots (not included). Kit puts nub forward not backwards like other kits. Does not effect the pattern or shiftability. Put grease on ball and in bushing cap. Factory thread for shift knob.

This is an excellent kit if you know what you’re doing. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there that show how to install this. They are all wrong. You will need to do some fabrication to get this to work good and not have slop. The aluminum spacers in this kit are nicely machined. The shift rod is steel with a chrome or nickel coating, and the machining is good enough. The OEM Mazda tip bushing, crescent bushing, and fulcrum ball bushings fit well, and the lower dust boot can be used too.

Great for the money
1997 Mazda Miata m-edition Turbo Fits well but shakes slightly when in boost. Be sure to use common sense when installing this because instructions that you find online are misleading due to the notch in the spacer being placed directly above the oem notch. Do not face the notch to the back of the vehicle. The black plastic piece on the side of the circular piece that fits in the transmission is not good quality and is loose. I would recommend installing it with your old piece of it is in better condition. Not manzo quality
I don't think this is a legitimate manzo short shifter, reviews from other sites are great but this eBay one seems to be different, maybe a look a like Chinese copy. I say this because on my 90 Miata the 3 new bolts for the shifter that hold the housing are terrible quality I snapped one immediately. Luckily was able to extract it and reinstall the stock bolts. Also the metal nub that goes into the slotted part of the shifter shaft that holds the shifter steady is a Allen screw that isn't locked into position, so it has play even after adjusting the screw out, you need to locktite that Allen screw so it doesn't move in and out. Otherwise it works, no instructions needed for a mechanic but if your a basic Joe u may want to watch a video for proper installation. If this is a legit manzo part ... I don't think this is a legitimate manzo short shifter, reviews from other sites are great but this eBay one seems to be different, maybe a look a like Chinese copy. Manzo Short Shifter - Budget or Bust?
The Manzo short shifter for the Miata is a bargain, but at the expense of quality. I bought a manzo short shifter unit for my FD3S and though the finish quality was unimpressive, the initial performance was awesome. It would later go on to loosen again, but overall I was satisfied. With such a positive experience with the company, I placed an order for my NA8 Miata. Once again, the packaging was awful. It literally came unmarked in a zip lock bags and the metal had hard edges. Upon install, the inferior quality or the rings was evident. Nothing fit quite right but with a little ingenuity I was able to make it work. Once started, the car banged through the gears better than I expected, however, within a week the shifter regained a good amount of side to side play in gear, but not nearly as ... The Manzo short shifter for the Miata is a bargain, but at the expense of quality. Overall, this product is just okay. During the installation process, you may have to reuse some pieces from the stock shifter. The inside of the detachable stalk seemed to have some surface rust, which doesn't affect the overall performance, but is something to note. When installed, the throws are much shorter than before. If you do decide to just drop this kit as is, just know there will be some "up and down" play in the shifter. If you want something that is great, high quality, and is drop-in with no issues, I wouldn't recommend this kit. If you don't mind experimenting a bit to fix the slight issues in this kit, then pick this one up.Overall, this product is just okay. Always check your parts. I mean yes I didn’t go for the most expensive part but I feel if it says brand new it shouldn’t be Rusty or bent. No I’m a reasonable person but if you know something is fragile package it better. And there’s no reason for a brand new part to have rust. If I didn’t look at it installed it. It would have rust wielded it’s self together. I just don’t feel I got a good product. Everything else seems good that’s why it didn’t get a one star.
