These speakers sound very good. They can definitely handle full range but at only 35 watts rms at the most which is not bad if you simply want to replace your stock dried out or torn speakers with something more higher end. These speakers can indeed handle 50 watts rms the an amplifier set to highpass at 80hz frequency and a 12 db slope and pair it with a 10 or 12 inch subwoofer at 300rms or so and have a very nice sounding audio system that will beat any fancy branded stock car radio. A great amo for these speakers would be the jl audio xd700/5 gives you 60 watts rms at 4 ohms for regular speakers at a normal 12 volts and 300 rms at 2 ohms for a 10 to 12 inch subwoofer. I woulnd do an 8 inch sub at that rms unless you were pushing an 8w7 with an xd600/1 or an HD900/5 but then again 100 watts rms would be too much power for these. With that said i would highly recommend them and like another person has stated in the reviews try to find these TR 6.5 CSI component speakers for 100 bucks or less. I love jl audio but based on the rms rating i wouldn't pay more then 100 bucks for them.Read full review

Sounds great after initial break in period. System has unexpectedly powerful low range with just my stock head unit, which was pretty amazing.Be forewarned, these speakers will rattle your doors so some form of Dynamat/Fatmat is recommended. Mids are plentiful and highs are clean, but not harsh which was a nice suprise considering the in-line filter.Very easy install with no crossovers to hide or deal with and at this price range they are gonna be hard to beat. i would compare them to a mid to high level Diamond component set(HEX series excluded) and quite possibly Focal Access entry level set(i said possibly). I see people say JL is overpriced, but in my experience with their products,i have never felt that i've paid too much and in this particular instance, i feel i got an amazing deal($95). Overall, a great sounding set that can be powered with a head unit or really rock with an amp.Read full review
Installed as an upgrade for the factory one's. Do not have aftermarket amp but nice range and very clear mid/treble. Bass is clear and not distorted but lack of amp power prevents strong low-end. Will sound nicer with additional power but a decent speaker for average listening. A little overpriced in this range as there are others that will sound as good but no disappointments.
I bought these for my fiancee's car. I wanted something nice but not overly expensive to replace the stock speakers. I connected these to a Rockford Fosgate Prime amp and they sound great. I have a set of JL Audio C5 speakers in my car and while these TR650's don't sound as good, they come a lot closer than I expected. This is an excellent value for the money.
These are good speakers if you can get them well under $100. I bought these to replace a $40 set of pioneer speakers (not component). While installing I was able to compare the 2 speakers. There was not a huge gap in sound. Jl's being component speakers made a better sound image so they were definitely worth switching, just watch the price.
