This listing is for the Circuit board, the tachometer is shown for reference only
Converts Smiths RVI tachometers to RVC. (New SMT Version incorporating 2019 update)
Calibration cable and miniature screwdriver included
- Designed and manufactured by us. in-house.
- All new electronics replaces old circuit board
- Latest version (August 2016) Based on the LM2917 tachometer chip but with Spiyda's own additions
- High quality ceramic capacitors for much longer life and temperature stability than other designs
- Nearly all SMT components for increased reliability
- Fits directly to the movement with the original circuit board mounting screws.
If your classic car has had electronic ignition fitted and you tacho won't play ball, this will solve the problem
Uniquely, this unit can be calibrated from a PC, Laptop, iPhone etc. using the calibration cable supplied
- No need to install software, just a play simple wav file.
- This particular board fits the Smiths RVI tachometers with the movement mounting screws as shown in the picture
- Works with all known Smiths RVI tachometers branded Smiths, Jaeger, Speedwell etc. including those fitted to Fords and Volvos as well as those made under license by Datsun.
- Converts Positive earth units to Negative earth
- If you have a positive earth you need this positive earth kit in addition to the board any number of cylinders from 2 to 12 to any number of cylinders 2 to 12
( eg it will allow enough adjustment for a tachometer made for a 2 cylinder work on a 12 cylinder engine and vice versa !)
- 22 turn calibration adjustment (new easier adjustment)
- Reverse polarity protected
- Over Voltage protected
- Latest version more sensitive to calibration input
- 22 turn calibration adjustment suitable for movement coils from 10 to 500 Ohms
- New design can be driven by Coil -ve connection, 12V or 5V square wave or TTL.. in fact almost anything between 1.5 and 100V
- Every unit tested on both low voltage input and high voltage input using an Accuspark ignition system
- Approved by Accuspark, 123Ignition, Powerspark.
Other information
- Four connections need to be soldered, but they are straightforward wire to terminal stuff, nothing fiddly
- The calibration cable plugs into the headphone socket of the computer
- The product is the circuit board with all the electronics on, it does not include the case or D'Asonval style movement.
- The appearance of the actual circuit board may vary as we continually make improvements.
We can fit and calibrate this board for you for a reasonable fitting charge,
