Common failures of the E36 include the rear trunk sheet metal latch points cracking over time. If you\'re running a wing or have a ham fisted spouse, you probably have cracked sheet metal. Worse, the sheet metal can completely fail and your trunk latch will have nothing to mount to. This part can prevent a failure before it happens, as it is occurring, or fix a completely failed latch mount!
This trunk latch reinforcement plate is made from 12-gauge stainless steel. The mounting holes are countersunk to accept the OEM latch bolts for a seamless look.
