THE EPS ETERNAL FIX
The Patent Pending IMS Eternal FixRetro Fit installs in-car without removal or disassembly of the engine required. We also offer fully Rebuilt Intermediate Shafts Upgraded with the Eternal Fixfor those performing an engine rebuild. The Cylindrical Bearing with Thrust Control design has a load capacity 5 times greater than the inferior, failure prone, Ball Bearing solutions on the market!
CYLINDRICAL BEARINGS ARE THE RIGHT CHOICE
Cylindrical Bearings have a load capacity of more than 5 times that of their Ball Bearing counterparts. Cylindrical Bearings are commonly used in very High Load, High Temp, Low Viscosity Lubrication applications such as Automatic Transmissions.
BALL BEARINGS ARE NOT THE SOLUTION!
If you are reading this then you are aware of the ever so common IMS Bearing Failures. The design flaw with the factory IMS was the use of Ball Bearings in an extremely high load application. Once the Ball Bearings Fail it leads to a Catastrophic and Expensive engine rebuild. DO NOT REPLACE THE FACTORY, FAILURE PRONE, BALL BEARINGS WITH A BALL BEARING \"UPGRADE\" AS THEY TOO WILL FAIL!!
- A- Pressurized Oil Feed Outlet:Located on the Retro Fit Base (D), this cavity is the pressurized lubrication exit point while the engine is running. The oil feed provides the Cylindrical Bearings, Bearing Races and Friction Plate with a continuous supply of pressurized, fresh engine oil(See FIG 3). (See Bottom).
- B- Bearing Race:The Bearing Race is the raised hardened steel surface edge of the Bearing Chassis (located on either side of the Bearing). This surface provide a friction point with the Retro Fit Base (D) and the Friction Washer (C). This provides the patent-pending axial thrust control required when using Cylindrical Bearings.
- C- Friction Plate:The Friction Plate is a hardened steel washer that provides the inner friction point with the Bearing Race (B)
- D- Retrofit Base Friction Surface:This provides the outer friction point with the Bearing Race (B)
- E- Retrofit Base Friction Surface:The Cylindrical Bearings provide the radial load support for the IMS. Cylindrical Bearings have a load capacity of more than 5 times that of their Ball Bearing counterparts. Cylindrical Bearings are commonly used in very High Load, High Temperature, Low Viscosity Lubrication applications such as Automatic Transmissions.

IMS Pressurized Oil Feed Modification Kit
Pressure feeding the IMS bearing with engine oil is achieved by punching a small in the cover at the front of the IMS. The front cover is a very thin metal plug, only .25MM thick. Using the included center punch and a hammer the hole can be opened with relative ease.
The Oil Pump\'s factory 8MM Allen drive is then replaced with a slotted 8MM drive. The slot on the new 8MM drive will provide a governed oil passage from the oil Pump pressure side into and through the IMS. This pressurized oil will flow through the IMS and in to the the IMS bearing. This will maintain a constant, fresh oil flow to the IMS bearing.
