This listing is for our Norton Commando grab rail hardware kit to mount your OEM grab railto your Roadster and/or Interstate. This kit replaces and upgrades all of the OEM grab rail mounting hardware. The GRAB RAIL IS NOT INCLUDED.
You will receive FOUR (4) galvanized, plastic coatedclamps, FOUR (4) rust proof bolts, FOUR (4) rust proof nylock nuts and FOUR (4)galvanized washers for a total of 16 parts. These parts will replace Norton parts 0700117, 063641 and 30858. Please view all pictures in this listing, they show an OEM used Norton grab rail mounted with this kit.
We designed this kit years ago simply because the OEM clamps became extinct and/or too expensive to replace. Replacement would benecessary on many occasions because the original OEM clamps were not corrosion resistant. The clamp itself would deteriorate inside of its plastic coating and the bolt would seize to the nut which was integrated into the now rusted clamp. Brilliant! A simple twist of your ratchet and one was left holding a mangledmess. Bring back memories?
Our kits are completely weatherproof, the zinc nut is removable from the zinc bolt and the galvanized clamp. The threads are coarseto prevent stripping (unlike the fine thread OEM bolts), the nylock nuts guarantee a tight secure fit. Your lovely passenger will feel safeand secure as you thunder along. We consider these kits to be a very robust upgrade to the OEM originals, especially if you live near salt water or ride your machine in foul weather. Rust never sleeps. These clamps fit the Roadster and Interstate grab rails for the Commando 750 or 850. All mounting hardware is hidden from view. The completed installation with your grab rail looks exactly as pictured. We have these installed on our Norton Commandosand have sold many kits worldwide with no issues reported. Like many upgrades this kit evolved long after the Norton brand faded away. The kit arrives with all clamps assembled in the order theclampshould beinstalled.
