This book, which is no longer available, was offered to prospective buyers and new owners of the grand tourer--of which only just over 2,000 were manufactured as an homage to the legendary 300SL and 300SLR--includes over 100 pages filled with beautiful photographs, technical drafts, specifications and descriptions of the creation of this exotic sports car through the collaboration between the World's oldest car company and one of Formula 1's most successful racing teams.
The SLR McLaren was a limited production automobile, ensuring that this book will remain a collector's item. If you are an avid collector of fine automobile memorabilia or someone simply looking for a nice book, I think you will find great value in this.
The book measures 12" x 9.5" x 1" (30,5cm x 25cm x 2,5cm) and weighs approximately 3 lbs., or just over one kilogram. The book, as shown in pictures below, is protected by a firm hardcover jacket and comes sheathed in a smooth black slipcase with the 'SLR' nameplate affixed at the bottom. Unless noted in the listing, your book will still be sealed in its original bubble wrap as packaged from Mercedes-Benz.Note: although sealed in the original bubble wrap, I noted when removing the one used for pictures above that, due likely to time in storage, the bubble wrap may have left a pattern marking on the black slip cover and, in turn, the interior of the slip cover may have left a pattern marking on the book's black hardcover.
