These Electrical Bullet Connectors are essential for restorers of vintage British cars, trucks & motorcycles as well as other European vehicles.
The Connectors are ideal for use with 14 & 16 AWG Wire. Quality Made, but are not Lucas.
Male Hollow Tip 4.6 mm Dia Bullet Connectors: 6 Each (Lucas Type #188156)
These Hollow Connectors are fitted by stripping a Wire End about 5/16\", and then placing the Connector below the wire, folding the wire strands over.
The Male Bullet is 0.1 mm smaller in diameter than a 4.7 mm Female Bullet Connector. The bent over wire strands at the Male
Bullet tip provide for a snug fit once inserted into a Bullet 4.7 mm Female Connector.
Male Solder 4.7 mm Dia Bullet Connectors: 10 Each (Lucas Type #900269)
Solder Method: (Connectors can also be Crimped to the Wire)
·Strip Wire End about 5/16 inch & then using Sn60Pb40 Rosin Core Solder, tin the Wire.
·Secure tinned Wire End vertically.
· Insert Bullet Connector onto the Stripped Wire end.
· Apply heat to the Bullet Tip End while applyingsolder.
· Continue heatingtheSolder to the End \'just until\' theBullet Connector “Sinks” into the Wire. If needed,apply a small bead of solder to the connector opening for better heat transfer. Too much heat for an extended time will melt the wire insulation.
· Once cooled, the Bullet Connector is dressed up using a Bench Grinder/Wire Wheel, or being Filed and/or Sanded.
Female Receptacle Single Sleeve 4.7 mm Dia Connectors: 4 Each (Lucas Type #900288)
Connectors accept both type Male Bullet Connectors above. They are used to join two Male Bullet Connectors together.
They are Rubber Outer Insulated, approximately 1 3/16” (30.15 mm) long.
Female Receptacle Double Sleeve 4.7 mm Dia Connectors: 2 Each (Lucas Type #850641)
Like the Female Single Sleeve, except accepts up to 4 Male 4.7 mmBullet Connectors.
Buyers please note that these Lucas Type Bullet Connectors as described above are different & bigger in size than American Type Bullet Connectors (commonly used in older American vehicles). Lucas Type4.7 mm = 0.18503937 inches American Type3.9878 mm = 0.157 inches
The American Type Connectors usually have a vinyl insulation coat & are advertised by color indicating their wire gauge size. Male & Female Connectors are not interchangeable between Lucas & American types.
