The 911R used a fiberglass taillight base plate with Euro lights mounted to them to reduce the weight of the vehicle. Many people don't like the look but want the weight savings, along with improved lightingWEIGHT IS ONLY 0.800 LBS! That's WITH the bulbs. 911R lamps are around 1.200 lbs.
They use3157 LED bulbsand twist lock sockets (INCLUDED!) (Amber for turn, Red for brake, bright white for reverse. Please let me know if you want different bulbs!)WHEN ORDERING: Please specify AMBER or RED turn signal bulbs. Default is AMBER!

These can be fit with marker lamps, but come without - just like the Euro / Rest of world cars.
They bolt right up and fit like factory with new hardware for installation. Use any OEM shape lens. Use OEM gasket or run without (LEDS are mostly waterproof and don't get hot)
* If you are running a NEW gasket, you may need to trim the gasket in some areas (usually behind the front corner) for a nice fit. The new gaskets (especially aftermarket) are quite a bit thicker. Take your time and will with come out very nice!

The new gaskets must be glued on (I use clear weather strip adhesive) carefully and properly.
Some of the aftermarket / reproduction gaskets are thicker than the originals. This can push the lens out a bit in the corners. I carefully trimmed the gasket and was able to get a perfect fit.
The housings are designed and tested on a perfect, never painted or damaged 911. Your car may need some adjustments to get the fit 100%. This is very common on 911s.... My personal car had been rear ended in the past and painted who knows how many times :)
Needless to say it took a bit of careful work to get them just right.
You may consider running some heat / spray shielding on the bottom of the housings, especially on a turbo or track car. My car is turbocharged and I haven't had any issues with no shielding, but I also have an inconel shield around the hot side of my turbo.
