Tank fuel filter. Nylon body with stainless steel screen. Quantity of 1.Many Lamborghinis are missing this filter! This is the first line of defense against contamination clogging your carb idle jets!
If you have the original in your car, the screen is most likely deteriorated or mostly gone. (However, most cars do not have these due to them not being available for many years. Or the mechanic not knowing or caring that a filter belonged on that fitting.)
The filter fits the following models:(1) required: 400GT, Miura, Islero, Jarama, Urraco, Jalpa(2) required: Espada, Countach LP400
NOTE: for all models except the Miura, the fuel fitting and bolt are on the bottom of the tank, so the tank will need to be drained. If this bolt has not been removed recently from your tank, it is a great idea to do... the sediment in the tank needs to be drained out of there! Feel free to contact me for advice on how to make this job as simple as possible to do.
NOTE: the original fuel tube on the fuel fitting that this filter fits to is 10.00mm OD copper tube with cadmium plating making it slightly thicker. If your fuel fitting tube is deteriorated, you will need to replace the copper tube section of the fitting that is soldered in. (otherwise this filter will fit loosely) Another alternative if your fuel fitting tube isdeteriorated is to put a layer of two part epoxy around the outside of the fuel tube, then slide the filter on and let it cure before putting into service.
NOTE: Yes, if you have a replacement stainless steel or aluminum tank, you will have less debris in your fuel system.. but this is not a valid reason to run with no talk filter. The smallest debris can clog your carbs!
